Extinction of printed version is inevitable.
It's sad, but it's the inevitable consequence of our "internet addicted" society.

[...] When the iPhone came out in 2007, the ‘App for That’ ads were basically product demonstrations that showed off the apps and their benefits more than the phone. The move echoed a famous ad maxim that recalls how ad agency JWT crafted ads shilling grilled cheese sandwiches so its client could sell more Kraft Singles.
The publishing industry has already changed a lot with many stores closing due to amazon.com's growth. Now with the boom of e-books and digital readers becoming popular I am guessing that over the next 10 to 20 years over 90% of books will be sold in digital form and the price of a paper book will likely be 3 to 4 times the amount. The "classic" style of a book will be more for collecting than for reading as paper books become nearly extinct. Some other interesting things that will change majorly are libraries as well as getting published. Self publishing will likely make for a huge boost in the number of books, with the increase in books, the cost to advertise each book will likely increase. There are many intgeresting things that will change this industry over the next 20 years!
